Digg CEO Steps Down

Early this morning Jay Adelson, the now former CEO of Digg, announced that he is stepping down from the position. He made this announcement via the company’s blog.

Jay said that the “entrepreneurial calling is strong, and I am ready to incubate some new business ideas over the next twelve months. As the economy exits a very deep recession, I believe that it is an excellent time for new companies to develop.”

Be on the lookout for new ventures that Jay starts.

Kevin Rose, Digg’s Founder and Chief Architect will fill the CEO position.

Kevin made an appearance on the blog post to “thank Jay for the last five years of amazing work” and also seized the opportunity to plug the upcoming Digg redesign.
