Live Cattle Sharply Higher
Monday's USDA cattle slaughter was 107,000 head versus a year ago at 110,000 head.
Live cattle futures traded sharply higher from the opening on Monday. October Live Cattle was trading at 148.05, up 2.35 and December Live Cattle was trading at 148.15, up 2.22.
Market chatter about better cash levels and packer buying was persistent throughout the trading session.
